BANJA LUKA, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Feb 19, 2008 (AFP) - Bosnian Serb police raided Tuesday the homes of two former bodyguards of war crimes fugitive Radovan Karadzic.

An elite unit entered the homes of Predrag Blagojevic in the eastern town of Bijeljina and Sava Regoja in northeastern Doboj on suspicion they are part of Karadzic's support network, said interior ministry spokeswoman Tamara Maric.

During the raid conducted early Tuesday following an order by the Court of Bosnia-Hercegovina, police seized certain documents and computers which would be forwarded to prosecutors, she told AFP.

Both suspects were bodyguards of Karadzic, the former Bosnian Serb political leader who along with his army chief Ratko Mladic is sought by the UN war crimes court in The Hague for atrocities committed during the 1992-1995 conflict.

Earlier this month, police searched homes of two other former Karadzic bodyguards.

In January, they confiscated travel documents belonging to Karadzic's wife Ljiljana, daughter Sonja and son-in-law Branislav Jovicevic.

The move is believed to be part efforts to restrict the support network which has helped Karadzic evade justice for more than 12 years.

Karadzic, 62, is wanted on genocide charges in relation to the siege of Sarajevo and Srebrenica massacre, which claimed an estimated total of 18,000 mainly Muslim lives.
