KIEV, April 1, 2008 (AFP) - US President George W. Bush said Tuesday he had told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia 'shouldn't fear' Ukraine's membership in NATO.

'You shouldn't fear that, Mr. Putin,' Bush said he had told the Russian leader during a recent telephone conversation as he explained why Washington wanted Ukraine and Georgie to be put on a track for NATO membership.
