MIAMI, April 1, 2008 (AFP) - Federal agents Tuesday in Florida arrested a Jamaican man acting suspiciously as he boarded a flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and found apparent bomb-making materials in his baggage, local media reported, quoting police.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who searched the man's bags in Orlando found 'suspicious material,' including pipe sections with end caps, ammunition, and potentially explosive or flammable liquids, TSA officials told the Orlando Sentinel daily.

Officials said the Jamaican, ticketed on Air Jamaica Flight 80, was also carrying instructions on wiring and making explosives and hand grenades, according to the daily.

The man, who was not identified, was taken outside the southern US city's airport, questioned by an explosives expert, and transfered to FBI custody, it added.

'I can say there was no immediate threat to passengers in the terminal,' TSA official Lee Kair told the newspaper.

The incident led to partial closure of the airport's Terminal A and delays for hundreds of passengers, with 11 out of the 1,000 daily flights affected, said the paper, citing an airport official.
