AMARA, July 2, 2008 (AFP) - Iraqi forces on Wednesday arrested an provincial governor identified as a member of Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's movement, government officials said.

Adel Muhoder al-Maliki was arrested hours after three other Sadr followers and members of the provincial council of Maysan were detained in a continuing crackdown in the southern region of Iraq, they said.
