BEIJING, July 31, 2008 (AFP) - Australia's Olympic squad advanced to the final of the FIBA Diamond Cup on Thursday, beating African champions Angola 81-78 on a CJ Bruton three-pointer at the buzzer.

Australian centre Andrew Bogut of the NBA Milwaukee Bucks had a game high of 32 points and 11 rebounds to help his team secure the win after they fell behind the Angolans by six points down the stretch.

With the clock winding down, Bogut also set a hard screen on Bruton's defender, freeing up the point guard for his game-winning shot.

'Situations like that, I like to have the ball in my hands,' Bruton said.

'When I let it fly ... it felt good.'

Australia advanced to Friday's final after beating hosts China on Wednesday.

Their finals opponent will be either Olympic champions Argentina or Serbia, who were to play later Thursday.

At next week's Olympic Games, Australia will be in Group A with Argentina, Russia, Lithuania, Croatia and Iran.

China will face Angola in the Olympics in a tough group B that includes the United States, world champion Spain, Greece and Germany.
