MOSCOW, August 10, 2008 (AFP) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday termed Georgian military operations in the rebel province of South Ossetia 'genocide,' Russian news agencies reported.

'The form which the actions by the Georgian side took cannot be called anything but genocide because they were on a mass scale and were directed against individuals,' the agencies quoted Medvedev as saying.
