BEIJING, August 18, 2008 (AFP) - Angelo Taylor of the United States regained his 400 metres hurdles Olympic title here on Monday in a time of 47.25 seconds.
The 29-year-old led, who won the gold in 2000, beat home world champion Kerron Clement (47.98) while 2005 world champion Bershawn Jackson lifted the bronze in a time of 48.06sec.
Taylor, who emulated the legendary Ed Moses in winning titles eight years apart, was a convincing winner coming off the bend a clear leader and was never seriously challenged.
Jackson fought back to overcome Jamaican veteran Danny McFarlane to snatch third and give the States their fifth cleansweep in the event but first since 1960.
