FLORENCE, September 3, 2008 (AFP) - Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia has gone home from Italy's pre-World Cup qualifiers training camp here after suffering a slipped disc in his back.

Amelia will miss the group 8 matches in Cyprus on Saturday and against Georgia in Udine on September 10.

Italy coach Marcello Lippi is yet to decide whether or not to call up a replacement.
