LAGOS, 13 septembre 2008 (AFP) - Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell has extended force majeure on Nigerian light crude oil exports from its Bonny terminal after the discovery of further pipeline leaks, a spokesman said Saturday.
The 'force majeure' allows the company to cite exceptional circumstances which enable it to suspend its contractual obligations.
The company did not say until when the force majeure clause would apply.
It initially declared force majeure on Bonny contracts in late July after its Nembe Creek pipeline was sabotaged. That declaration covered July, August and September contracts.
