YAOUNDE, Sept 18, 2008 (AFP) - A truck hit a bus in southwest Cameroon on Thursday killing 11 people and injuring two others, rescue services said.

The bus was headed towards Douala, the economic capital, carrying 13 people when it was hit by the truck which had reeled off course, an emergency official said.

The truck driver, who emergency services said had fallen asleep at the wheel, fled following the accident.
