ROME, Sept 30, 2008 (AFP) - Roma captain Francesco Totti will miss Wednesday's Champions League clash against Bordeaux after failing to recover sufficiently from a knee injury.

Totti has only played twice this season, coming on as a replacement in the Champions League match against Romanian club Cluj on September 16 and in Serie A action against Reggina four days later.

The striker is not the only injured player not to have made Luciano Spalletti's squad for the trip to France, with defenders Juan, Marco Cassetti and Max Tonetto, and midfielder David Pizarro left at home.

However, Brazilian striker Julio Baptista is included.
