Dutch PM denies he is pushing Europe bail-out plan

PARIS, Oct 2, 2008 (AFP) - Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende denied Thursday that his government was proposing a Europe-wide bail-out fund for troubled banks, saying there had been a 'misunderstanding.'

Balkenende met with President Nicolas Sarkozy who is hosting a European mini-summit in Paris on Saturday to coordinate a joint response to the global financial crisis.
