LOS ANGELES, Oct 2, 2008 (AFP) - Wreckage of a plane found in California was confirmed to be the aircraft being flown by adventurer Steve Fossett when he disappeared last year, authorities said Thursday.

'The search team went in and they did locate the aircraft which we have now confirmed is the one which Steve Fossett was flying when it disappeared,' the spokesman said.

'We do have a verification and location that the aircraft has been found.'
