OSLO, Oct 2, 2008 (AFP) - Norwegian police have arrested 26 Danish fans for public disorder and vandalism in a hotel in the western city of Trondheim ahead of the UEFA Cup game between local club Rosenborg and Danish outfit Brondby.
'They vandalised the hotel, notably urinating in the corridors, and their raucous behaviour kept other hotel guests awake the whole night,' Trondheim police spokesman Lars Melvold told AFP on Thursday.
Norwegian media said the Danes could be 'casuals', a group of individuals who seek trouble on the sidelines of sporting events.
'We found Danish flags but no sporting effects, which could indicate that,' said Melvold.
Rosenborg play Brondby later Thursday, the Norwegian side having won the first leg 2-1.
