TOKYO, Oct 3, 2008 (AFP) - Top seed David Ferrer crashed out of the Japan Open Friday, going down in straight sets to Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro in the quarter-finals.
The defending champion and world number five managed to break Del Potro only once before losing 6-1, 7-5.
For Del Potro, the world number 12 who won four straight tournaments this year, it was sweet revenge after losing their previous two meetings.
