LONDON, Oct 9, 2008 (AFP) - Europe's main stock markets rebounded in early trading on Thursday, with London and Paris both up more than two percent, after share prices recovered across Asia following days of financial turmoil.

London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares was up 2.12 percent at 4,459.40 points, about 45 minutes after the start of trade.

It had shed 5.18 percent in turbulent dealings Wednesday as investors worldwide brushed aside central bank efforts to counter the global financial crisis, traders said.

In early deals Thursday, the Paris CAC 40 rallied 2.14 percent to 3,571.57 points after tumbling 6.39 percent on Wednesday. Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 1.37 percent to 5,082.13 points after a plunge of 5.88 percent Wednesday.
