Italian marathon runner Alberico Di Cecco has tested positive for the banned blood-booster EPO from a control effected on October 12 during the Italian championships, the Italian Olympic Committee (Coni) said Monday.

The 34-year-old`s best result was a ninth place finish in the marathon at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.
