Rangers manager Walter Smith says he doesn`t know how many more points his side can afford to lose in the race to be Scottish champions after his side drew 3-3 with Dundee United at Ibrox.
The Ibrox gaffer was disappointed with his side`s defending in the match on Tuesday, which had been rearranged due to the death of United chairman Eddie Thompson.
Smith knew a win would see his side top the Scottish Premier League but the Ibrox club have now fallen two points behind arch rivals Celtic despite being four points clear at one stage.
Following the six-goal thriller with United Smith said it was nothing new for sides to come to Ibrox and have a go and it was a situation he would have to look at.
`None of the teams that come here are going to lie down to us,` Smith said.
`Scotland is a difficult place to work and I keep saying that to people. The teams that you play against are very well organised and play very well and United did that against us.
`I thought that game was a really good one for the fans to come to. Maybe as a manager I can pick some faults that I have seen in our team but you have to give credit to the opposition who worked very hard for their point.
`I don`t know if we can afford many more games like that. It depends on how the league goes. If I knew how it was going to go it would make it a lot easier for me and I wouldn`t worry quite as much.
`I`m not unhappy at how we are playing as we are playing some good football but we don`t want to drop points.`
At Ibrox on Tuesday Rangers missed the chance to regain top spot in the Scottish Premier League after it took a last minute Kevin Thomson goal to secure a 3-3 draw against Dundee United.
Rangers` long unbeaten record at Ibrox now stretches 20 games but the draw means they have fallen two points behind league leaders Celtic.
The home side fielded an unchanged team from the one which demolished Inverness 5-0 on Saturday but United proved to be a tougher opposition and looked comfortable when in possession.
However it was Rangers who took the lead after ten minutes through Steven Davis. Kenny Miller found the Northern Ireland internationalist on the edge of the box and he jinked past three defenders before unleashing a screamer past Lukasz Zaluska.
United equalised six minutes later. Morgaro Gomis slipped the ball to Francesco Sandaza whose first-time effort whistled past Allan McGregor low into the net from 18 yards. Kris Boyd then twice had the ball in the net but both efforts were ruled offside.
United took the lead after 26 minutes when Spaniard Sandaza got his second of the game. Paul Dixon charged forward and found Scott Robertson in the box whose shot was palmed away by McGregor to Sandaza who tapped in.
Rangers equalised in the 38th minute when Sasa Papac got his first goal for the club. The Bosnian internationalist took a touch after collecting a Nacho Novo chipped pass in the box before rifling the ball past Zaluska.
United who took the lead in the 58th minute when a defensive lapse allowed Robertson to score. A long throw from Dixon was missed by everyone and the midfielder was at the back post to knock it in.
Rangers threw on captain Barry Ferguson and Kyle Lafferty in their quest for an equaliser but it was Thomson who darted past several tackles before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Zaluska in injury time to give Rangers a share of the points.
