A final statement from a summit of world leaders on the global economic crisis is expected to underline the `necessity` of establishing better financial regulations, Brazil`s Finance Minister Guido Mantega said on Friday.
`All the countries accept the necessity of regulation of the financial system,` Mantega told reporters as government leaders gathered in Washington to discuss the financial crisis.
`There could be divergence about the type of regulation ... but the (final) communique will say that it is necessary to have regulation of the financial system, principally for the non-banking (sector),` the minister said.
`Financial actors don`t like regulation. Maybe there will be a discussion at the technical level on which mechanisms will be used,` he said.
Leaders of the world`s richest nations and emerging economies will attend a working dinner at the White House on Friday followed by formal talks on Saturday.
