Steven Gerrard has pulled out of England`s friendly against Germany on Wednesday after tearing a leg muscle in Liverpool`s win over Bolton.
Gerrard has been ruled out for seven to 10 days, but could return in time for Liverpool`s next game against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: `Steven picked up an injury in Saturday`s game at Bolton.
`A scan has confirmed a tear in the adductor magnus muscle in his right leg, and he is expected to be out between seven to 10 days.`
Gerrard is the third high-profile England star to withdraw from Fabio Capello`s squad for the trip to Berlin.
Manchester United duo Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney had already been ruled out with injuries, while captain John Terry faces a scan on a foot injury that could force him to withdraw.
