Atletico Madrid said the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is to announce a decision Thursday on the club`s appeal against a UEFA ban on spectators from the club`s next Champions League match.
UEFA initially imposed a two-match fan ban after supporters chanted racist insults during an October 1 Champions League fixture against Marseille, but reduced it to a one-match ban last month.
This would mean Atletico will have to play their next Champions League home match -- against PSV Eindhoven on November 26 -- without any spectators in their Vicente Calderon stadium.
The Spanish side filed an appeal at the Lausanne-based CAS against the ban and a 150,000 euro fine.
