China`s giant centre Yao Ming will miss Houston`s regular season game against Dallas on Wednesday with a foot injury.

Yao was injured, along with teammates Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest, in Monday`s 100-89 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Yao left the National Basketball Association game at Oklahoma City with soreness in his left foot after scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 33 minutes.

Tests done Tuesday at a Houston hospital showed no stress fracture, but Yao will be kept out for precautionary reasons. He missed the final 26 games of last season with a stress fracture in his left foot.

Chuck Hayes will start at centre in place of Yao.
