An 8-year-old boy suspected of murdering his father and another man in a remote northern Arizona town admitted the crime in a video interview with police which surfaced Wednesday.
TOKYO, Oct 19, 2007 (AFP) - Japanese police said Friday they arrested a woman who allegedly buried her baby's body in cement and hid it after believing the boy died.
Police arrested Yuko Hamano, 30, and her boyfriend Masakatsu Takagi, 48, on Thursday on charges of abandoning the body of the woman's 18-month-old son, Kyotaro, police said.
'Hamano told police that the baby collapsed at home some time around March last year and she thought he was dead,' said a police spokesman in western Kyoto prefecture.
SYDNEY, Oct 18, 2007 (AFP) - Australian police were scouring Sydney schools Thursday trying to identify a boy whose naked body was found in a suitcase floating in duck pond on the city's suburban outskirts.
A group of children made the grisly find on Wednesday afternoon, initially believing a dead pig had been dumped in the suitcase, only to discover it was the plastic-wrapped body of a boy aged four to eight.
Officials said the discovery had shocked Australia's largest city and warned parents to keep a close watch on thier children.

Michael Devlin, 41, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and armed criminal action in Franklin County court on charges of abducting 13-year-old Ben Ownby in January.
