Shunsuke Nakamura scored a first-half penalty as Celtic beat 10-man Hamilton 2-1 on Sunday to move four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

Nakamura struck from the spot to cancel out Richard Offiong`s opener after Hamilton defender Martin Canning was sent off for a foul on Cillian Sheridan at New Douglas Park.

MOSCOW, Aug 14, 2007 (AFP) - Russia's number one steel producer Severstal said Tuesday it will buy a 22-percent stake in the Dublin-registered gold producer Celtic Resources.

Severstal's mining branch, Severstal Resurs, will purchase 12.3 million ordinary shares in Celtic from the Aton International group for an undisclosed sum, the company said in a statement.

CHICAGO, July 22, 2007 (AFP) - The Chicago Fire`s newly acquired midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco provided a vital spark - and a goal, as the Major League Soccer club played to a 1-1 draw with Scottish champions Celtic on Sunday.

In the opening minutes, Chicago attacked with Blanco`s shot from up the middle of the field that went over the crossbar. Celtic countered with an attempt by midfielder Paul Hartley that went over the crossbar as well.

In the 12th minute, Chicago had a corner kick shot by Blanco saved by Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc as it was curving into the net.
