HEBRON, West Bank, Oct 10, 2008 (AFP) - Palestinian police found a Hamas-run bomb factory in the West Bank town of Hebron on Friday and arrested 11 people, a security official from the rival Fatah faction said.

NAIROBI, Oct 4, 2008 (AFP) - Eight Kenyans held in Ethiopia without charge since 2006 on suspicion of ties to Al-Qaeda-linked Islamists have been released and arrived home in Nairobi on Friday, a human rights official and police said.

BEIJING, Sept 30, 2008 (AFP) - Police in northern China have arrested 27 people in their probe into tainted milk that has sickened 53,000 children and embarrassed China's reputation abroad, state media reported Tuesday.

The 27 are among 36 detained since law enforcers in Hebei province started investigating Sanlu Group, the company at the centre of the scandal, earlier this month.

MADRID, Sept 30, 2008 (AFP) - Spanish police said Tuesday they had seized seven tonnes of hashish and arrested five suspects at two southern ports, the biggest such haul in the southern Andalusia region this year.

In the first operation, officers found one tonne of hashish divided into 36 packets on a boat in the port of Cadiz, on Spain's southern coast said a police statement.

PARIS, September 11, 2008 (AFP) - Police arrested five men in western France Thursday following a tip-off about a possible terror plot, a source close to the case said.

Police in Rennes detained the men, all French nationals of north African origin, 'to verify information on the possible creation of an Islamist grouping that may have had terrorist aims,' said the source.

RIYADH, September 10, 2008 (AFP) - Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday it has arrested five people who used the Internet to propagate extremism and incite youths to go to troubled areas, a reference to supporters of Al-Qaeda.
