African Development Bank to double DR Congo reconstruction aid

KINSHASA, July 31, 2007 (AFP) - The African Development Bank will increase its support for reconstruction in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 200 to 450 million dollars, the bank's president said Wednesday in Kinshasa.

The AfDB decided to increase its aid to support reconstruction efforts made by the massive central African country in the past five years, Donald Kaberuka told reporters at the end of a three-day visit to Kinshasa.
