SOFIA, Sept 5, 2007 (AFP) - Bulgaria's world ice-dancing champion, Maxim Staviski, has been charged with homicide after he caused a car accident that left one man dead and a girl in critical condition, prosecutors said Wednesday.
He has also been charged with drink-driving. Russian-born Staviski, 29, lost control of his sports utility vehicle on August 5, driving it head-on into another car near the southeastern city of Burgas.
The 23-year-old driver of the other car died in the crash while an 18-year-old girl travelling with him was taken to hospital in a coma.
MANCHESTER, England, July 26, 2007 (AFP) - Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson vowed to carry on spending after signing Bulgarian international winger Martin Petrov for 4.7 million pounds from Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old passed a medical on Thursday and will become Eriksson`s fourth signing since he took charge at Eastlands once he is granted a work permit.
