Airbus chief slams EADS probe as 'show trial'

FARNBOROUGH, July 13, 2008 (AFP) - Airbus boss Thomas Enders on Sunday blasted as a 'show trial' the insider trading probe into managers from its parent firm EADS.

'This is a show trial. This is bad theatre... I think that has to be said very clearly,' he told a seminar in Farnborough, England, ahead of Monday's opening of the airshow here.

EADS boss unflustered by fuel prices

FARNBOROUGH, July 13, 2008 (AFP) - Louis Gallois, the head of European aerospace group EADS, insisted Sunday that planemakers should not be unduly panicked by the soaring fuel costs hitting airlines.

'We have not a big flow of cancellations so far,' he told a seminar organised by EADS ahead of the biennial Farnborough International Air Show outside London, which opens Monday.

EADS does not exclude link-ups with Middle East

FARNBOROUGH, July 13, 2008 (AFP) - Marwan Lahoud, head of strategy at the European aerospace group EADS, on Sunday said he did not rule out forging links with companies in the Middle East.

'It would be silly from our side to exclude any of the options of this kind,' he told an EADS seminar at the weekend organised ahead of the Farnborough International Air Show, which opens Monday.
