E.ON upholds forecast despite 18 pct drop in second quarter

FRANKFURT, Germany, Aug 15, 2007 (AFP) - E.ON, the biggest energy supplier in Germany, upheld Tuesday its full-year earnings forecast despite seeing its second-quarter net profit fall around 18 percent.

The picture was less rosy for the second quarter where profits dropped to 901 million euros and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) plunged 20 percent to 1.38 billion euros.
