Air China signs Boeing deal for 45 aircraft

FARNBOROUGH, July 17, 2008 (AFP) - US aircraft giant Boeing announced on Thursday a 6.3-billion-dollar (four-billion-euro) deal at catalogue prices to sell 30 medium-haul 737s and 15 long-haul 777s to state-owned Air China.

'These airplanes are the most fuel efficient in their classes,' said Kong Dong, chairman of Air China, the second largest commercial airline in China.

Airbus announces deal with South American Synergy for 10 aircraft

FARNBOROUGH, July 17, 2008 (AFP) - European planemaker Airbus announced on Thursday agreement to sell 10 long-haul A350 XWB aircraft to South American consortium Synergy Aerospace in a deal worth 2.1 billion dollars at catalogue prices.

Synergy Aerospace is the main shareholder in Avianca and SAM airlines in Colombia, Oceanair in Brazil and VIP in Ecuador.

Boeing wins order for 15 737s from US leasing firm

FARNBOROUGH, July 16, 2008 (AFP) - US aircraft giant Boeing said Wednesday it had won an order from US leasing firm Aviation Capital Group (ACG) for 15 737-700 aircraft worth 934 million dollars at catalogue prices.

The latest order brings to 96 the aircraft on order from ACG -- 91 737s and five 787 Dreamliner long-haul planes, Boeing said.

Malaysia Airlines orders 35 737-800s: Boeing

FARNBOROUGH, July 16, 2008 (AFP) - US aircraft giant Boeing said Wednesday it had received an order from Malaysia Airlines for 35 medium-range 737-800s, with a value of more than 2.6 billion dollars.

Boeing said at the Farnborough Air Show that the order was already noted on its website but that the identity of the carrier involved had not previously been revealed.

Asiana Airlines of South Korea orders 30 A350s

FARNBOROUGH, July 16, 2008 (AFP) - Asiana Airlines of South Korea has ordered 30 long-haul A350 aircraft from European manufacturer Airbus worth 7.2 billion dollars, Airbus announced on Wednesday at the Farnborough Air Show.

The deal also includes an option to purchase 10 additional A350s, with deliveries of the firm orders scheduled to begin 2016, according to Airbus.

Airbus flying high after Gulf states snap up more planes

FARNBOROUGH, July 15, 2008 (AFP) - Airbus soared above its US rival Boeing here on Tuesday after striking deals to sell eco-friendly passenger jets worth 15.2 billion dollars (9.5 billion euros) to mainly cash-rich Gulf states.
