PORT-AU-PRINCE, July 27, 2008 (AFP) - A road accident involving a barreling truck with failed brakes has left at least 32 people dead and about 50 injured in southern Haiti, officials said.
The accident occurred in the town of Cavaillon Saturday, when a heavily loaded trucks with failed brakes plowed head-on into at least three oncoming vehicles.

MANILA, July 24, 2008 (AFP) - The Philippines is to send 320 soldiers to Liberia and Haiti next month for UN peacekeeping missions, armed forces chief of staff General Alexander Yano said Thursday.
