MADRID, July 26, 2008 (AFP) - Spanish police said Saturday they had arrested the leader of the Colombian Marxist rebel group FARC in Spain, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, northeast of Madrid.

Police named the suspect in a statement as a 57-year-old Spanish woman, Maria Remedios Garcia Albert.
