JAKARTA, Oct 15, 2007 (AFP) - Three Muslim militants on death row for their involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings will not seek clemency from the Indonesian president, their last avenue of appeal, a report said Monday.
'We do not want a (presidential) pardon,' Imam Samudra was quoted as saying by Kompas online. 'A pardon is a democratic law that we oppose.'
MUMBAI, Aug 2, 2007 (AFP) - Bollywood action hero Sanjay Dutt was moved late Thursday to the prison where Mahatma Gandhi was incarcerated during British rule, officials said.
Dutt was jailed Tuesday for six years for weapons possession and sent to Mumbai's Arthur Road jail, which was built to house 800 inmates but is now believed to hold nearly 3,000.
'Sanjay Dutt has been moved out of the Arthur Road jail to Yerawada jail near Pune, due to lack of space and security concerns,' a senior jail authority said on condition of anonymity.
