Kenya's Moi backs Kibaki for second presidential term

NAIROBI, Aug 28, 2007 (AFP) - Former Kenyan president Daniel arap Moi on Tuesday backed his successor Mwai Kibaki's bid for a second and final term in office in a crucial shot in the arm ahead of elections due later this year.

Moi, 83, who retired in 2002 after 24 years in power, said Kibaki was the best candidate to unite and steer the east African nation.
