Football: Inter squad needs trimming, says Mourinho

APPIANO GENTILE, July 28, 2008 (AFP) - Despite Inter Milan's pursuit of top class midfielders such as Chelsea's Frank Lampard and Ghana's Sulley Muntari, coach Jose Mourinho said Monday that he needs to trim his squad.

With the arrival of Muntari, who was due to be unveiled to the media on Monday, Inter's first team squad has ballooned to 28 bodies.

RISCONE DI BRUNICO, July 26, 2008 (AFP) - Inter Milan's Argentinian captain Javier Zanetti said on Saturday that he has been impressed with new boss Jose Mourinho's training methods since the Portuguese arrived at the San Siro.

Mourinho was famous for his strict discipline and meticulous preparation during training sessions at Chelsea, where he spent a little over three years.

Football: Mourinho 'has to win' at Inter Milan

YOKOHAMA, June 7, 2008 (AFP) - Newly-signed Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho vowed Saturday to bring more titles to the Serie A champions, saying it was his duty as a big-name manager.

'Because I work always in top-level football, in big clubs, the objective is always the same,' he told reporters after taking part in an exhibition match in Yokohama, Japan.

YOKOHAMA, June 6, 2008 (AFP) - Inter Milan's new coach Jose Mourinho said Friday he didn't see himself as 'The Special One' as he kept tightlipped on his plans for the Serie A side.

The Portuguese coach -- who famously gave himself moniker while at Chelsea -- was named on Monday as the new coach of Inter Milan who have won three straight league titles.

Football: Mourinho named as new Inter Milan coach

ROME, June 2, 2008 (AFP) - Jose Mourinho was on Monday named as the new coach of Inter Milan, the Italian club announced.

The 45-year-old Portuguese former Chelsea manager signed a three-year contract.

Mourinho replaces Roberto Mancini who was sacked as coach of the Serie A champions on Thursday, despite having just led them to a third successive league title.

Football: Mourinho nears Inter hot-seat after Moratti meeting

ROME, May 31, 2008 (AFP) - Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is close to being named the new boss of Inter Milan according to Italian press reports following the release of pictures of the Portuguese coach meeting with Inter president Massimo Moratti in Paris.

The lunch meeting allegedly took place on Friday with other Inter officials also reported to have attended.
