Baseball: Marlins trade Olsen, Willingham to Nationals

The Washington Nationals obtained pitcher Scott Olsen and outfielder Josh Willingham from the Florida Marlins in a five-player trade on Tuesday, the Major League Baseball clubs announced.

The Marlins, who posted a surprising 84-77 record this past season, received second baseman Emilio Bonifacio, minor-league pitcher PJ Dean and minor-league second baseman Jake Smolinski.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 22, 2008 (AFP) - Washington Nationals outfielder Wily Mo Pena had surgery on Tuesday to repair a small tear and fraying of the labrum in his left rotator cuff, the Major League Baseball team said.

The procedure was performed in Cincinnati, and Pena will be in a

sling for three weeks before beginning a rehabilitation programme.

Zimmerman lined a 1-2 pitch from Braves righthander Peter Moylan into the first row of the Red Porch section in left-center field.
