Basketball: Mavericks' Howard arrested for street racing

DALLAS, August 2, 2008 (AFP) - Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard was arrested on charges of street racing in North Carolina, the Dallas Morning News reported on Friday.

Howard, who is hosting a basketball camp in his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was pulled over late Thursday night when police clocked him at 94 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, the newspaper said.

Basketball: Deng signs deal with NBA Bulls

CHICAGO, July 31, 2008 (AFP) - British forward Luol Deng signed his new contract with the National Basketball Association's Chicago Bulls, the club announced Thursday.

The move comes one day before Deng joins Britain's national team for the upcoming European Championships and at a mimimum of 71 million dollars over six years will make Deng among the top-paid British sportsmen.
