MADRID, Oct 21, 2007 (AFP) - Stalled talks aimed at resolving a dispute between champions Alinghi of Switzerland and US sydicate Oracle that could see a postponement of the 2009 America's Cup in Spain are to be resumed on Monday in the US, organisers said on Sunday.
The head of organisers AC Management, Michel Hodara, told AFP that the two sides would talk again informally before a court case over the new rules governing the event that were proposed by Alinghi get underway in New York.

MADRID, Oct 17, 2007 (AFP) - US syndicate Oracle is poised to make a 'constructive proposal' aimed at ending the damaging legal dispute with champions Alinghi which is threatening the 2009 America's Cup in Spain.
'We are giving urgent consideration to what it takes to resolve this,' a spokeswoman for Oracle and Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) of San Francisco which represents the US syndicate told AFP, on Wednesday.
'We hope to soon have a constructive proposal that we will then look forward to discussing with the challengers and defender,' she said.
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 12, 2007 (AFP) - Number two global software maker Oracle said Friday it had bid 6.68 billion dollars for BEA Systems, an offer that was swiftly rejected by the rival business software group as too low.
Hours after the proposed tie-up was announced for the two California-based firms, BEA said its board concluded that the offer 'significantly under-values BEA Systems.'
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 12, 2007 (AFP) - Number two software maker Oracle said Friday it was offering 6.68 billion dollars cash to buy rival business software group BEA Systems.
The price of 17 dollars a share would be a 25 percent premium to the most recent closing price of BEA, which is based in San Jose, California.
'We have made a serious proposal including a substantial premium for BEA,' said Oracle president Charles Phillips.
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 25, 2007 (AFP) - A US judge said Tuesday he wants Oracle's lawsuit against SAP to go to trial in early 2009 and that it appears the German firm overstepped legal bounds in downloading its rival's data.
California-based Oracle sued SAP in San Francisco federal court in March, charging the world-leading business software group with the online looting of its software libraries to gain a competitive advantage.
