Explosion halts oil flow through BTC pipeline: agency

ANKARA, August 6, 2008 (AFP) - Oil flow through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline was cut Wednesday after an explosion sparked a fire in a section in eastern Turkey, local officials told Anatolia news agency.

The incident occurred around midnight in a pump at a section near the eastern town of Refahiye, in Erzincan province, the agency said.

Bulgarian parliament ratifies South Stream deal

SOFIA, July 25, 2008 (AFP) - Bulgaria's parliament ratified on Friday a deal with Russia to build the South Stream gas pipeline to carry Russian gas to Europe, the parliament announced.

A total of 140 deputies voted for the ratification following hours of heated discussion. Forty-seven were against and there were two abstentions.

India, Iran to seal gas pipeline deal 'by next month': oil minister

MADRID, July 3, 2008 (AFP) - India expects to finalise a deal 'by next month' on a pipeline that will transport gas from Iran, Indian Oil Minister Murli Deora told AFP on Thursday.

'We discussed this here again yesterday,' Deora said in an interview on the sidelines of the World Petroleum Congress in Madrid when asked about the project. 'There should be an end to dialogue now.
