War crimes trial of Serbian nationalist Seselj to start November 7

THE HAGUE, Sept 18, 2007 (AFP) - The war crimes trial of ultra-nationalist Serbian politician Vojislav Seselj has been set to start November 7, UN court documents released Tuesday showed.

Seselj, the leader of Serbia's largest parliamentary party, the Radicals, has been in custody for over four years pending his trial at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

The politician, who is to mount his own defence, had earlier protested against the court proposal Wednesday to set the trial date for November.
