Britney Spears slapped with hit-and-run driving charge

LOS ANGELES, Sept 21, 2007 (AFP) - Britney Spears suffered a fresh legal setback on Friday after being charged with involvement in a hit-and-run incident following a minor parking lot scrape, Los Angeles prosecutors said.

The troubled pop princess, who was this week ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing as part of her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, faces an arraignment hearing on October 10, city attorneys said.

LOS ANGELES, Sept 18, 2007 (AFP) - A judge has ordered Britney Spears to undergo random drug testing in the latest twist to the fallen pop singer's bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, court documents showed Tuesday.

Los Angeles Superior Court judge Scott Gordon said that, according to evidence presented in closed door hearings, Spears remains a 'habitual, frequent, and continuous' user of 'controlled substances and alcohol.'
