MADRID, July 30, 2007 (AFP) - Spanish telecommunications group Telefonica reported a 126.7 percent gain in second quarter net earnings Monday and said it was revising upward its sales forecast for the full year.
Telefonica said net profit in the April-June period came to 2.573 billion euros (3.5 billion dollars) compared with the second quarter 2006. Sales rose 6.5 percent to 14.079 billion euros.
At the operating level earnings gained 34.4 percent to 6.163 billion euros.
