Cricket: Younis, Iftikhar excel as Pakistan blank West Indies

Rao Iftikhar returned career-best bowling figures while Younus Khan struck a brilliant hundred to guide Pakistan to a 31-run win over the West Indies in the third and final one-day here on Sunday.

Iftikhar took 4-59 to foil a fighting 122 by Chris Gayle as the West Indies, chasing 274 to win, were bowled out for 242 in 46.3 overs to give Pakistan a 3-0 win at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Cricket: Younus century propels Pakistan to 273-6

Star batsman Younus Khan scored a sparkling hundred to lift Pakistan to 273-6 in the third and final day-night international against the West Indies at Sheikh Stadium here on Sunday.

The 30-year-old hit 101, including five boundaries and a six, after Pakistan won the toss and batted.

Kenya to search for new coach to replace Harper

NAIROBI, Sept 10, 2007 (AFP) - Kenya has begun searching for a new national cricket coach to replace Roger Harper who is stepping down at the end of September after one and half years.

The former West Indies spinner has made his intentions known that he wants to return home in the Caribbean to be close to his wife and two school-going teenage sons.

Cricket: Chanderpaul joins Durham

CHESTER-LE-STREET, England, July 27, 2007 (AFP) - West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has joined Durham, the English county announced Friday.

Chanderpaul, the mainstay of West Indies' batting, was at the crease for more than 24 hours while averaging 148.66 during England's 3-0 home win in a four-Test series earlier this season.

He also scored 116 not out in the second one-day international at Edgbaston, a match West Indies won as they came from behind to claim the three-match series 2-1.
