MONTREAL, August 3, 2008 (AFP) - Russia's Dinara Safina steamrolled Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-1 to capture the WTA Rogers Cup for her third title in her last six events.
Safina, who is enjoying one of the most productive runs of her career, needed just one hour, eight minutes to beat unseeded Cibulkova at the Uniprix Stadium court.
STOCKHOLM, August 3, 2008 (AFP) - Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki took her first ever WTA title on Sunday when she clobbered Russian Vera Dushevina in the final of the 145,000-dollar Stockholm Open.
The 18-year-old Dane, seeded fourth, completely dominated the game, winning through 6-0, 6-2, after earlier ousting top seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in the semi-final.

MONTREAL, August 3, 2008 (AFP) - Unseeded Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova seeks to continue her giant killer form after booking a berth in the WTA Rogers Cup final on Saturday.
Cibulkova, who upset world No. 2 Jelena Jankovic in earlier rounds, beat 10th-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, in a rain-hit semi-final Saturday at Uniprix Stadium.
LOS ANGELES, August 2, 2008 (AFP) - Serbian tennis star Jelena Jankovic is to replace compatriot Ana Ivanovic at the top of the world rankings, the WTA said on Saturday.
Jankovic, who crashed out of the quarter-final of the US Open to an unseeded player on Friday, will become the 18th world number one since 1975, the association said.
